Researching on inspiration style: Bohemian style

 In this term project, I am choosing bohemian design as my design inspiration. To get better understanding bohemian design I am going to research on bohemian style.

Bohemian design also known as boho design is a design which describe as maximalism design, free-spirite carefree, creative and unconventional decore. Bohemian come from french word which describe as nomad, adventurer and outsider. Bohemian design is a design that eclectic styles, use playful colour, lot of patterns and textures, layering multicultural textiles, artworks and lot of decorative items. Bohemian design to create environment that bring feeling of relaxing and vibrant. Bohemian design is a design that random and busy, eclectic of diversity and art. When it come to bohemian is that there is no rule in design, design that truly make you own.

According to website "Master class' that I am researching, their 7 elements to achieve in bohemian style

1. Eclectic colour: there is no standard colour in design, bohemian design using wide rage of colour bold colour palette, deep warm earthly colour, bright colour and using accories with colour such as saturated purple, fiery orange etc. Combination and layering colour are the best choice in behemian design.

2. Unmatched textiles and patterns: using variety of textiles and patterns such as burlap, silks, chenille, sisal and crushed-velvet.

3. Global influence: using decoration item material design style influence from every area around the world such as Ikat from Cambodia, Persian rugs, Suzanis, Moroccan rugs.

4. well-worn and natural: using a lot of decorating including figuries, paintings, pillows, pottery, rugs something that in fringe, crochet and macramé abound, lamps.

5. Greenery: lot of indoor plants such as hanging plants, potted plants to bring the home feeling connected to the nature, relaxing and full fill of life.

6. Furniture: bohemian design is about design that low to the ground. Furniture most from natural materials such as wood. Can be hand made goods, travel souvenir second-hand or vintage kind of look furniture. 

7. Ambient lighting: use good mix of different light source such as candle, lanterns, floor or wall lamps, natural fibre pendants.

 After researching more about bohemian design it really helped to better understand on how bohemian worked, materials and furniture. I will also do research about materials and furniture fitting research to know different types of material and what materials and furniture that I will be using for my project.
