Icebreaker: Recreating an Artwork.

This first task of term 2, I was introduced on recreating artwork of artist. This task was working in pair with my classmate Jenny. We choose one artwork called “The dead of Marat”. I will be the one who act as the person in the painting and jenny who will be the photographer.

This is a painting that symbolize the French Revolution. The Death of Marat was caused by a woman, Charlotte Corday, who believed that he was responsible for the more radical course the Revolution had taken through his role as a journalist.

Here are the process of recreating artwork:

Materials that we are using include: fabrics, hat, cardboard, book, paper, pencil, paints.

Then we set up the place in similar way as the painting. We place two chair and one table and cover by the fabrics. Next we carboard make it into box and place it in front of the table.

This the pre photo before making the final one.

This is the outcome of a recreating artwork.

In this photo there are a few different from the painting that we replace the head part as I wear a French Style Beret to represent as an artist. The on the painting there are ink, letters and feather quill pens and we replace it by book, pencils, paint brush. The blood part we replace it with red fabric. The purpose of this change is to tell that we are art and design student that have a lot of work to be done by the deadline because we left a lot of works and start doing it when it nearly the deadline and we suffered.

  1. Add references for where you found information about the work you are writing about.

The commentary should have a bit more detail, but the images are good.

Edit and update according to my comments please.
