Further research on using colour

I will look at at some basic use of colour to help me with my design. I will be looking at colour in term of accent colour, complementary colour , shade and tone. 

Accent colour is a colour that used in small quantities to lift or too add punch to a colour scheme. Accent colour should be in a complementary colour. Using accent colour is to highlight the dominant colour. Accent colour can be use on painted surface, furniture, pillows, throws, rugs, artwork and accessories. 

complementary colour is the colour opposite one another on the colour wheel.

Shade of colour: creating by adding black to any of hue. Shade can range from medium colour to very dark depend on how much black was added. Using shade of colour is depend on what mood that we want to create into the room. Light shade can make the room look more opening, larger and brighter. Darker shade make the room feel personal and calm the mind. 

Tone : creating by adding black and white which is gray to any of hue. Shade can range between lighter or darker depend on how much black and white was added.

Overall, these really helped me with my project. For my design, I will use mostly purple colour as a main colour and I will use purple colour in different shade of tone depend on the room. I am thinking of using lighter shade on the wall with I will use another colour such as accent colour, other colour to lift up the design and I will be using wallpaper. I will be creating moodborad to show my what material and colour pallet that I will be using.
