Further research: Karim Rashid

 Karim Rashid was born in 1960 in Cairo, Egypt. Karim Rashid was an Egyptian industrial designer. Rashid family were moving a lot when he was a child and there last destination was Canada.Rashid started to get interesting in art when he was a teenager. Rashid study industrial design at Carleton University in Ottawa and graduate in 1982.

Karim Rashid did a lot of design such as furniture, luxury goods, interior project, packaging. He is noe based in New York. His portfolio includes over 3000 designs in production and received over 300 award through out his works. Rashid best known for his futuristic design and his used in bold colour schemes. His inspiration come from sci-fi movie that he watched when he was young. His designs also inspired from his exploring, experiment with nature, emotions. Strong bold colour which describe as mood and enegies, aesthetic, human connection is his aims when he started create his design. Rashid designs' are completely opposed from old tradition design. 

This is one of his design interior Petasos beach resort & spa in Greece. I choose this design because I think It would have me to understand more about his used of colour purple. 

In this design, about the colour I really like how he use variety shade of purple colour especially he used light shade colour, he also use combination with other colour such light pink, highlight of blue colour when looking at this design I really feeling connected to the space, using light colour schemes it make me feeling calm, fresh and cleanness. I think the combiantion of purple with pink really suited together, it doesn't look overwhelmed or too bright. Moving to design, it looks very futuristic, the design is very minimalist, Rashid did not use any decoration at all, in this design are mainly focus on designing and use small among of furniture. After looking at this design, it really help me on how can I use purple colour into my design and I am planning to use light purple colour on the wall and maybe use combination with pink but I will make a blog on development and experiment with purple into my design.

In this bedroom design, I think Rashid used mix of dark purple colour and light purple colour as a main colour. In this design, I like how he also including variety colour such as furniture and decoration which make the room look very colourful. When looking at this design, I can feel the feeling of joyful. Yet, in this design are also minimalist. In my design, I will use dark purple on furniture such as bed, sofa like Rashid use in this bedroom design.
